Does Religious Institutions Do More Harm Than Good?
There are many Christian organizations building schools in every state in Nigeria. Popular churches own institutions, both secondary and tertiary ones. Landmark (Winners Chapel), Covenant (Winner chapel), MountainTop (MFM), Babcock (7th day adventists) etc.
These are all privately owned institutions. The fees are huge that only the rich or better put, the ones that can afford it. I have so many friends in those schools aforementioned. I know the intent of these religious organizations is to build and train students/individuals to become better people in the future.
But these schools are just masking the true behavior of these students. They are more or less in a bondage, if that's not too much to say. Because they have all these strict rules like no phones, no smoking, must attend church services and stuff. Penalty follows immediately if one goes contrary to rules.
Student always finds a way to do whatever they wish to, in other words i dont think these Religious schools shape students for better.
What your take?
