Cannibalism is the act of one individual especially a poultry species eating or killing all or part of another individual of the same species as food. It is commonly in poultry where domestic hen are reared for egg production it also occur in domestic turkeys, pheasants and other poultry species. Cannibalism can occur as a consequences of disease or hunger whereby feather picking caused denuded areas and bleeding on a bird's skin. Cannibalism cause large mortality rates within the flock and large decreases in production due to the stress it causes. This few steps help to prevent it.
