When I got a job in Lagos and just moved into Lagos from Enugu state, I was told to resume as early as 8am. I stayed on the mainland and worked on the island around adeola odeku, my aunty who I was leaving with advised me to leave the house around 5am so as to beat traffic... " aunty IJ you mean I will see people on the street around that time , make person no go kidnap me ooo" I said jokingly. " lagos never sleeps oooo...even 2am people are still working, traders are still hustling , Lagos is awake all round the clock" she said smiling.
5am I was out and surprisingly my aunty wasn't wrong ....there were loads of workers trying to find their way around, traders rushing to the market and shops opened.
The road was free as I got to work on time, its true what they say about Lagos "if you are to be at a place by 8 go about 2-3 hours earlier.
I could remember the day I got lazy to stand up from the bed , that was after 3 weeks into my work, thank God for bike ( okada) I would have been queried but at the same time the risk is high biking your way from the mainland to the island . I always say "we are all riding the bike, for you to survive it has to be a collective effort" lolzzzzz . thank you
