The Chinese government has denied any mistreatment of Nigerians in the Asian country, saying that China treats foreigners living in the country the same way as its citizens.
This is coming after videos making rounds on social media appeared to show Nigerians stranded in China due to an alleged inhuman treatment from Chinese officials amid calls on the Nigerian government to do something about it.
As a result, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila said Nigeria will not fold its hands and watch her citizens in foreign countries being discriminated against.
Gbajabiamila, at a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Zhou Pingjian, confronted the Ambassador with a video in which a Nigerian was seen challenging Chinese officials over the alleged maltreatment.
The House Speaker stressed to the Chinese Ambassador that the manner China treats other Nigerians is very important just as the Asian country is treating the Nigerian Ambassador over there.
