Eid el Kabir is a celebration that commemorates the history around Ibrahim’s obedience about sacrifing his son how Allah provided a ram as a substitute for the sacrifice.
Eid-el-Kabir is marked as the end of the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The Islamic celebration is guided by the lunar calendar and begins on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah also known as Arafat Day. The date may vary over a period of 11 days based on the Gregorian system. Eid el Kabir 2018 will be celebrated on Wednesday and Thursday, 22nd and 23rd August. It is a public holiday where majority of the Islam faithfuls celebrate.
