1. Don't use a wash for your lady parts
If you want to clean yourself, warm water is enough. When you use soaps, sprays, or gels to wash your lady parts, it can disrupt the bacterial balance. This can lead to a yeast infection, and other irritation.

Try to change your pad as often as you can.
3. Do not take too much sugar
Sugar is inflammatory and can increase cramping. Refined sugar also causes your body to retain sodium and water, which leads to bloating and mood swings.
Salt also increases fluid retention, bloating, and cramping.
4. Don't take dairy products
Dairy products includes milk, cheese, yoghurt. They contain arachidonic acid. This acid worsens abdominal cramps. Foods like turkey, beef, pork, and chicken also contain high levels of this acid.
5. Do not have unprotected s3x
This is never a good idea even when you're not on your period. Blood is a good medium for viruses and other bugs.
Therefore, transmission of STDs can be higher during this time. Also, it becomes easier for bugs to go from your lady parts to the cervix, and into the pelvis.
