1. Weak Bones
When your body gets too acidic, it tries to neutralise the excess acid by drawing calcium from the bones. When the body uses too much calcium, the bones get soft and weak. This, in turn, leads to osteoporosis or osteopenia. Also, bones are weak and fragile and fracture or break easily.
Solution: This can be reversed by cutting out red meat, soft drinks and acidic food while consuming dairy products and calcium-rich foods such fish with edible bones, nuts, Okro, cabbage etc.
2. Excess Weight
Excess weight results from your body having to deal with too much junk in it; the excessive, unnecessary things in your body tend to create an imbalance in the level of acids and bases in your body, therefore resulting in one being overweight.
The acids come from some of the popular foods that people oftentimes consume, like sugary drinks, and carbonated drinks, as well as alcohol, which leads to more acids in the body.
Solution: Cut the intake of sugary drinks, alcohols and red meat. If possible don't eat them. Also, drink alot of water and physical exercise can help to lower your acidic level which in turn lead to reduction in weight.
3. Skin problems/ Acne
If your pH balance is off and it's too alkaline, your skin is going to look flaky and red. If it's too acidic, you'll increase your chances of inflammatory skin conditions like eczema and acne.
When skin is too acidic, it becomes red, oily and pimply. It will often appear greasy, feel irritated and react sensitively. Obviously, staying pH balanced is important in avoiding the frustrating symptoms of either extreme alkalinity or acidic skin.
Solution: Eating less of acidic foods and having a balanced diet without sugar and additives can resolve these issues, especially when combined with drugs prescribed from a dermatologist (skin doctor)
4. Fatigue and exhaustion
Our body uses a lot of fluids for daily and important tasks, such as digestion, transporting nutrients and oxygen throughout the body, immunity and overall lubrication of the body. If these fluids become too acidic, then the capacity of our fluids to work becomes less. Just like a car's engine without oil. Our body will have to work harder which causes us to get fatigued easily.
Solution: Drink plenty of water, stop drinking alcohol, eat balanced diet and rest.
5. Dental Problem
The thing that makes one’s bones strong is the availability of calcium in them. Teeth tend to have similar mineral content as the bones. So, the excess acids in the body can result in the calcium in the teeth being pulled out to help make the other body parts function properly.
The teeth might also end up having holes in them due to the lack of calcium or become sensitive due to eroding enamel.
Solution: Visit a dentist at least twice a year. For sensitive teeth visit your dentist to get recommend toothpaste. Reduce Sugar intake and take food with high calcium content.
